HELENA DE KLERK
Counselling & Psychotherapy
My name is Lena (pronounced Layna) and I am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also in the final stages of completing my doctoral training as a counselling psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Prior to starting my doctoral training I completed a Bachelor of Arts, specialising in psychology and dance, a Master’s of science in clinical and child & adolescent psychology, and a postgraduate qualification in low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I have 5 years of experience in NHS child and adolescent, primary, secondary and specialist teams in South London with clients including children, adolescents, families, adults and older adults with a range of presentations.
I also have experience working in charities and national health services internationally, developing a keen understanding and interest in cultural differences/similarities, identity, the role of language, and issues of relocation, alienation and belonging.
I currently work part time in a perinatal NHS service.
I speak English, Dutch and German.
